What I Noticed. What I Learnt
Backyard city of India felt the wave of pleasure as the gates to White Orchid Convention Centre opened and the crowd was welcomed into the world of pop tradition, superheroes and the coolest merchandize obtainable in the market.
I bought the SuperFan go which gave me entry to the Comedian Con on all three days, a tremendous Star Wars poster, discounts in various stalls and a giant Marvel shopping bag. I also bought high-fives from all of the volunteers at the event for being a “Super Fan”. Sometimes, a high-5 of approval is all you’ll want to really feel awesome about life.
These three days allowed individuals to dress up as whoever they wish to be, aka Cosplay. There have been no boundaries by way of gender, region, religion or fandom. Batman was seen poking The Penguin’s stomach, Marvel Lady and Venom had been posing collectively for selfies, Harry Potter and Yoda were hugging and a lady Sakata Gintoki and Deadpool were chilling beside the Amar Chitra Katha stall.
Day 1: A die exhausting Cyanide & Happiness fan
Folks have been seen excitedly shifting from one stall to another, buying souvenirs for buddies and household and posing with Cosplayers and their favorite cartoon characters. The Star Wars zone was buzzing with fans all night.
Highlights of my day: Met Rob DenBlyker of Cyanide & Happiness fame and received my comic book signed by him. I also managed to satisfy some Quorans. Aditya Bhushan Dwivedi, Shewali Tiwari and Ishita R Chakraborty, it was lovely to meet you all within the midst of all the awesomeness of finn t shirt yarn this Comedian Con. 🙂
Day 2: Cosplayed as Rapunzel
The footfall doubled, the variety of Cosplayers tripled and the ATM line gave the impression to be longer than the road in front of Dan Dad or mum, the creator of Archies.
Highlights of my day: Being referred to as Elsa of Frozen and/or Mary Poppins and having to point at my lonnnnnng blonde hair till someone would shout “Rapunzel”.
Particular point out goes to Tanmay Bhatt of AIB for calling me Tarla Dalal (a well-known Indian chef) in the course of the Cosplay event because a fry pan was Rapunzel’s weapon of choice.
Day three: Cosplayed as Maleficent
I don’t assume anybody was able to maintain monitor of the footfall in the present day. The Cosplay registration desk finn t shirt yarn had to cease taking entries as a result of there were 300+ contributors contained in the convention centre by around 5PM. The traces in entrance of Cyanide & Happiness stall, Dan Mum finn t shirt yarn or dad (Archies), David Llyod (V for Vendetta), Sana Amanat (Ms.Marvel) and Peter Kuper (Spy VS Spy) stretched all of the solution to the outside of the centre.
Highlights of my day: Getting to chat with a lady dressed as Savita Bhabhi. She received the utmost hoots on stage and was probably the most enjoyable to speak to offstage.
Just a few people requested me to curse them in order that they could turn into “Sleeping Magnificence”. I imagine they assume this is what Maleficent does for a residing.
This was an exhilarating expertise. We grew to become mates over our love for the Comedian Con, we Cosplayed as our favourite characters and had one of the best time posing for pictures and reciting dialogues on stage and most significantly, we forgot all our woes & worries for 72 hours to have fun the whole lot round us.
